Point Hope's 130th-Year Refit

On August 28th, 2020 Point Hope Maritime was acquired by the Ralmax Group of Companies. Shortly thereafter, the decision was made to temporarily suspend shipyard operations in order to facilitate a major upgrade of Point Hope's facilities and equipment with particular attention being given to the environmental concerns of the 21st Century.

There has been a shipyard on the Point Hope site since 1873.
It is fitting that this major renovation takes place during the 130th anniversary of the founding of the yard.

The centrepiece of the renovations is the upgrading of the marine railway to a lifting capacity of 1200 tons and the addition of a turntable that will allow us to accommodate several vessels "on the hard" at the same time.

In addition, the main wharf and docking pier will be completely rebuilt, and several outdated buildings replaced.
